The Mad Cuddlez Podcast Episode One: Hate and Hugs

We debut the new podcast, and...you know what I'm not going to lie. It's the same show. But BETTER! With a new and improved name. This week Spiz does a surprising amount of hating and ranting, and P just goes with it. We talk, we play music, we answer feedback. Thank you for supporting the show. If you'd like to ask a question or state your displeasure about something, email us at madcuddlez@gmail.com. Don't forget to subscribe to the show in iTunes. Thanks mang!

The Correspondence Cast Episode 12: Lykki Like What You Lykki Like

This is officially the last episode of the Correspondence Cast. Sad I know, but we'll all just have to move along with our lives. In this episode, Pierre will turn on his brand new robot Fontelroy and he wanted to talk about how he is no longer a racist robot. Also in the show we read your emails, talk circumcision, and about how awesome technology is. Thanks for listening, as usual you can subscribe and review our show in the iTunes music store, email questions and comments to madcuddlez@gmail.com. We'll see you....never again.

Correspondence Cast Episode 11: An 80's Dogbath with The Skweeze

We continue the 80's conversation, and I just stuff this episode with people. I got Poozle, the sister Clare, the husband Omega, and a little Brooklyn CJooks to season on top. It sounds a little crowded at times, so I apologize. We go over comments from our Facebook friends. We got so many that I had to read them all because I appreciate all of the input. We love our fans. After all that though, we end up Googling porn stars, and then it gets really bad after that. Podcast nights always end like that, but hopefully you're into that so thanks for listening! You can subscribe to the show in the iTunes music store, and you can email us with questions, and comments at madcuddlez@gmail.com. Tell a friend yo!

Tracks in this episode: Prince - "I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man"

The Police - "Don't Stand So Close To Me"
Freezepop - "Jem"

Correspondence Cast Episode 10: 20th Century Hangover

"If memory serves me right..." I was channeling the original chairman of Iron Chef. You know, the guy who was actually Japanese, not his Filipino nephew on Iron Chef America. Anyway, I was inspired by an amazing 80's themed party to do a show about the 80's. The idea got so big that it had to be broken up into two shows. In this episode, I interview a new member of the Correspondence crew. Reppin' the Illadelph, it's my new internet friend Mopey. You'll get his lovely take on the decade, plus a little wackiness in-between, as usual. If you like the show, please subscribe in the iTunes music store, check out the blog at runningcorrespondence.blogspot.com, and you can now email the show at madcuddlez@gmail.com. Spread the word! All 40 of you.

Misfits "Hybrid Moments"
Huey Lewis and the News "If This is It"
The Promise Ring "Living Around"

Correspondence Cast Episode 9: Dizzy in Beat Sounds wouldn't eat Daffy Duck

We worked diligently to create a proper outline for this week's episode, but then we started drinking a lot, and that outline quickly went out the window. We somehow ended up doing a cartoon draft, and we mention our friend Don way too many times. Hopefully his legion of Facebook fans will assemble to make this the most downloaded show ever. WE'LL SEE. As usual, thank you very much for listening. If you like the show, please subscribe to the show in the iTunes Music Store, and don't forget to tell a friend. You are appreciated!

Our Podcast is Hot

I just checked the stats on our podcast, and in one week our last episode has almost hit 40 downloads which is what we normally do in one month, so I just want to say thanks for listening, and for the support. Let us know that you love the show by leaving questions or comments on the blog. Thanks dudes, and dudettes!

Monday

THE CORRESPONDENCE CAST 8: Ya Sleep on Usss...Ya Sleep 4evaa...

Strap in kids, this joint is mad long. The longest in Correspondence Cast history in fact. We had to make up for being on hiatus. Lots of rambling. Pierre defends T-Pain(twice), Philadelphia the game, comic strips, and Clare stops by to add a womanly touch to the whole show. The episode 1 crew is back! Shout out to all the peoples who have been listening/reading. You can leave a comment or question here if you'd like, and go to the iTunes store and subscribe to our show. Tell a friend! Thanks for listening.

I Want A Draft Do-Over Part Two

3:Jenny Lewis(drafted 5th overall in the 3rd round)

People that know me know that I had/have a long time crush on Jenny Lewis and she has managed to stay up there in my mind. I used to blog about her incessantly on my old blog(I can't seem to search for specific posts on there but they're there). She used to be my special girl that no one knew about. I still brag to people that I saw Rilo Kiley play in a cafeteria at UC Berkeley in front of no more than 30 people. Last time I saw them they were playing a huge show at The Grand Ballroom in San Francisco. Freaking Feist opened for them. I still think shes cute and has an interesting voice, but her last few efforts have been whack. I do not regret picking her at all but I think I could have taken her later. I don't think Pierre would have taken her.

4: Gweneth Paltrow(drafted 8th overall in the 4th round)

Ok, what the fuck was I thinking? I totally dropped the ball here. Yes, Gweneth Paltrow is beat ums worthy, but I honestly could not think of anyone at the time so I panicked and she popped into my head because I just saw her on Conan. It was the first week of Conan, and I was all excited to have Conan back in my life, and there goes Gweneth Paltrow, and I think "Fuck, she looked hot with red hair in Iron Man." That was a stupid pick. For God sake she's fucking the anti-Christ. Sorry, sorry, sorry.

5: Jennifer Connelly(drafted 9th overall in the 5th round)

Kind of feel the same way about picking Jennifer Connelly as I did with picking Gweneth. Sure, I'd love to spend the evening with her, but is she top 5 worthy? I don't know. I think I was thinking about that scene in Requiem For A Dream. Also I had it bad for her after Labyrinth, but I saw that movie like 15 years ago. Questionable pick, but yeah. I blame lack of focus and preparation.

Girls I Should Have Drafted

-Veronica Belmont, host of the online show Tekzilla and Qore on the PlayStation Network

I can not believe I spaced on her. She is like a geek's dream. I could ask her about which new cell phone I should get and her cuteness rating is off the chart. Plus she could probably hook me up with a PS3 because she's tight with Sony at the moment.

-Rose Elinor Dougall(aka Rosay, formerly of The Pipettes)

My jaw hit the floor when I saw The Pipettes at a show in Chicago. Polka dots never looked so good. I dig her deep voice and her Casio keyboard skills. Rosay always sang about not wanting a nice guy. She sounded like she liked it rough, and that intimidated me a lot. I don't think I would be able to satisfy her, but hopefully that was just a persona that she was playing to benefit her image in the band. Now she's gone solo, and is taking inspiration from Angelus Silesius, whom I have never heard of, but hopefully this is a sign that she wants a nice boy like me.

-Neko Case, Amazing Musician

I should have stolen her from you Pierre. That's who I thought your first pick was going to be. I never mentioned that to you. Either her or Diane Keaton. I thought about stealing your precious Neko from you but I guess I was too busy thinking about Gweneth FUCKING Paltrow?!?! What the fuck was wrong with me?

-Ellen Page, actress

Okay, I'm losing focus again. I'm just kidding I would not draft Ellen Page. End post.

Monday

I Want A Draft Do-Over Part One

Last month, on our sweet podcast(please subscribe) Pierre and I drafted 5 fantasy beat ums. I cann only speak for myself but I did not put as much thought into it as I should have. If given the opportunity I would still beat those girls, but after thinking about it for a month I'd like to recognized some terrible omissions. First here was my draft in it's original state.

1: Zooey Deschanel(picked #1 overall)

I am not second-guessing this pick at all. She is still adorable. ADORABLE. I was staying with my friend's Beth and Rob in Chicago and they had recorded something on their DVR about Gilmore Girls so I wanted to watch it. First commercial is Zooey in a Cotton commercial.

God I want to have sex with the irises in her eyeballs. I'm sorry Zooey I do not talk like that to women. I just think you are the cutest thing and that is how I express that. Anyway, point of the story is that I never watched that Gilmore Girls special. I watched that commercial 5 times though. I'm watching it again as I type. She is my number one no doubt.

2: Anne Hathaway(drafted 4th overall in the 2nd Round)

Looking back on this pick I was sort of wishy washy about it. At the time I had it in my head that Pierre would be definitely be taking Anne Hathaway, so I kind of jumped the gun on her.

Sorry, watching the video again. I should not have added that until after I was done writing. This is going to take much longer.

Just even the thought of talking about Anne Hathaway at the moment is making feel lazy. I guess I think she is really beautiful but I have no attachment to her beyond that. It's not like with other nerd crushes where you at least go to their Wiki page which I have not done for Miss Hathaway. Conclusion: She's on my list, sure come to bed Anne but I have no interest in anything you say.

Sorry, I'm just going to fap to this video and go to sleep. Numbers 3-5 plus my more than honorable mentions.

THE CORRESPONDENCE CAST EPISODE 7 - I'D BEAT UMS: DRAFT EDITION

What is "I'd Beat Ums" you ask? Well, I think if you listen to the show you'll realize that it's pretty self explanatory. Spiz and Pierre get together and we rank the top 5 people that we would like to beat those with. We don't mean to do it, but our women listeners might get completely offended. That's not true. We are very tasteful when we list our dream scenarios. Then there's some etcetera etcetera. Please leave a comment or question on the post if you like the show. Subscribe and review the show on iTunes. Also, tell your friends. Please tell your friends. Thanks and enjoy!

TRCP 6 or TPOAMDRP 6: THE Wedding

So almost a month later, Spiz drags his new wife to the cave with all the recording equipment. We talk marriage, the ceremony, the honeymoon and there are the musical breaks in between. There ain't nothing left to say because I've been sleeping really late this week playing Resident Evil 5. Enjoy the time we spend together. CoaMDR Book Club?

I finally opened up that Murakami book(Hard Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World) Tan gave me to read last year and it has been one of those books that has recharged my interest in literature. I wanted to know if anyone is interested in doing a book club as one of the topics of a future podcast. What I really thought would be cool is if we also included comics because after listening to all these gaming podcasts name drop comics, I decided that after I move back to Sacramento, I'm going to build a nerd fortress and comics(as well as literature) will be a foundation of that fortress. Everyone who is interested should email me with one suggestion for a book and after we have at least 3 or 4 people we can discuss the choices and then settle on one book. I want to start reading Walking Dead but the series is extremely long so we could just do like the first three volumes. I would like as many people in on this as possible so I have a roster of people to ask to record a show. Even if you can't make the recording at least we can use your notes/thoughts as talking points. Anyway, just an idea to get something together.

Friday

TRCP Episode 5: To All the Crushes

With a week to go before the big wedding, Spiz wanted to talk about all of those brief run in's with crushes from childhood to adulthood. He convinced CJooks to get in on the fun and by the end of the episode they walk away vulnerable and embarrassed. If you have any questions, comments or feedback leave a comment on the blog. You can subscribe to the podcast via iTunes as well. Thanks for listening.

Saturday

Sacramento Bound

So I was going to post a new podcast tonight but for some stupid reason I can't open the project file so I can't edit anything. Fortunately I exported everything before this computer decided to act up so I can post it tomorrow but I can't edit the first part and it doesn't sound as good as I want it to(the background music is louder than the voice track). Anyway I'm too annoyed to work on it now. I wanted to drop the news on the show, but whatever. I already told some people and all of Andrea's friends know so who cares. Thank goodness I backed up everything. Crap sounding podcast is better than no podcast I guess.

When I found out I would be moving to Davis/Sacramento my immediate reaction was FUCK. After a day of thinking about it I guess it's okay. It won't cost too much to live out there and I'll live two hours from the Bay and the Tahoe/Reno area. At least it's not LA. I would feed myself to the rats living in my walls if I had to live in LA. My only concern is what the fuck am I going to do in Sacramento? That question applies to my career as well as my social life. I've never lived there but I have visited friends and family there and all that comes to mind when I think of that place is "boring." As for my career I really have no fucking idea what I'm doing. I just assumed I would go back to school so I can get into the gaming industry on the development side but there ain't no developers in Sacramento. I really don't know what I'm going to do.

I feel so conflicted. I can't help but be disappointed but I don't want Andrea to feel like I blame her. Neither of us really had any control over where we were going and Andrea ranked UC Davis really high because they have an awesome Pediatrics program. Why the fuck should I be unhappy?

  • We goin' goin' back back to Cali
  • it's closer to the Bay and Tahoe
  • only 1 hour away from Ma.
  • Cheap cost of living, could even by a house
  • At least it's not LA

The idea of leaving Chicago and moving to Sacramento frightens the hell out of me. I'm fucking ridiculous. I'm never happy. As soon I found out I was going to leave Chicago in June I got really sad. Dude, I've spent all these years cursing this fucking place and now I'm going to miss it. When I moved from the Bay to Chicago I was scared, but I was excited and I had no preconceived notions about Chicago. I have negative feelings toward Sacramento so I'm scared and I'm not that excited.

Andrea, no matter where you go and no matter down I may be feeling, just take my face into your hands and just tell me that I'm going to be okay. I'm no good to you Andrea unless I'm ready to make calls, pack and unpack boxes. I'm doing all of this for you because I love you.Be happy. Who cares what I think. If it's a really good program, that benefits the both of us.

I didn't even get into how the fuck are we moving all of our shit.

I'm not writing anymore.I'm leaving. I'll post better tomorrow. You want me to be happy just buy some direct TV and a sweet screen to watch it on. I'm still angry.

Monday

Questions for Andrea

I'm interviewing Andrea tomorrow about Match Day for this week's podcast(tentatively titled Episode Four: Andrea iz Real). If you want to ask Andrea a question, leave a comment or e-mail me your questions. You can ask anything.

Friday

Expect A Podcast by Saturday

I don't give a fuck. I'm going to put something on that feed. I've already started and I can work all Friday night just to get it done. Hopefully making the show will be the calmness that I haven't had lately. Wish me luck.

EDIT

Shame on you for thinking I would actually do it. I'm off to Mardi Gras. See y'all next week.

We's official now

You can subscribe to our podcast on iTunes. Can you believe that shit? Search for 'The Podcast of a Middle Distance Runner" and you should find it. Now you'll be up to date as soon as an episode posts. I'm so freaking excited. While you're subscribing, you should write a review. If you're too lazy to do that just hit the review button and give us 5 stars so we can get some good publicity. Write whatever you want, but just give the show 5 stars. Also, do we like the name of the podcast? I'm open to suggestions. Make some artwork too someone. Thanks dudes and dudettes.

Monday

THE RC PODCAST EPISODE ONE: THE ALMOST LOST PILOT TAKE 3

We wait almost 30 minutes to introduce ourselves because Spiz can't wait to embarrass himself. Anyway, this week Spiz, Poozle, and CB get together to talk about the dark period of 90's music(and some of the good points of 90's music), gay robots dancing to David Bowie, drunk hugging Jenny Lewis, a brief cameo by Omega, the terms of marriage, and the beginning of the trend of name dropping people we shouldn't be name dropping. Thanks to Poozle for getting this together as well as providing some of the music. This episode was on the verge of becoming the pilot episode that no one remembered because everything was totally different on the first episode of some sitcom. Leave a comment and maybe we'll read it on the show unless it's negative. In that case then we'll just delete you. From the planet.
