TRCP Episode 5: To All the Crushes

With a week to go before the big wedding, Spiz wanted to talk about all of those brief run in's with crushes from childhood to adulthood. He convinced CJooks to get in on the fun and by the end of the episode they walk away vulnerable and embarrassed. If you have any questions, comments or feedback leave a comment on the blog. Joanna Newsom and Victoria's Secret

I mentioned this in a previous Facebook update but I find this strange. If I wasn't such a fan of Joanna Newsom I would probably think the music goes well with the commercial but it doesn't seem right to me. I want to say that the song is being taken out of context but I don't know what Joanna Newsom is talking about half of the time anyway. Whatever, Miranda Kerr is the hottest VS model anyway. At least I think so.

Isaiah Can't Sleep Either

from Jay Mariotti's column at Fanhouse talking about Isaiah Thomas' recent hire at Florida International

Last October, Thomas seemed to hit rock-bottom when a 911 call from his home reported that someone in the house had overdosed on sleeping pills and was taken to a hospital. Reportedly, Thomas said the person involved was his daughter, denying it was an overdose but saying, "My daughter is very down right now. None of us are OK.'' But police reports identified the subject as a man who was passed out on the floor when the ambulance arrived. And the police chief in Harrison, N.Y., David Hall, told the New York Times that Thomas was lying -- and intimated that he indeed was the health victim in question.

Fucking sleeping pills. I am totally hooked on them and the thought of getting laid off and losing my health insurance freaks me the fuck out because that means no more sleeping pills. However, stories like this scare me. One way or another I'm going to have to kick the habit. I don't want to get knocked out and never wake up again. There are too many instances where I've taken a pill and then I do not remember anything that happened after 30 minutes. Then I see misspelled posts all over the blog and then people are asking me shit about something we talked about the night before, but I have no idea what they're talking about most of the time.

What can I do though? I can't sleep. Chicago has been stressful. I'm going to make a serious effort to ween off the pills when I move back to California. I won't really have a choice but if I do it gradually it shouldn't be too bad.

More Red Sox Dick Sucking by ESPN

Heres something Peter Gammons(someone who loves the dick) said just now on Baseball Tonight:

(regarding the death threats of Dustin Pedroia) "Dustin said something about the Oakland Coliseum...(then he says under his breath) understandable..."

So what is he talking about? What did Pedroia say about the Coliseum? From the Boston Herald:

Apparently, Pedroia will be able to go home again, although a flap generated by Pedroia calling the place “a dump” in Boston Magazine has turned ugly. Police recently arrested 47-year-old Kenneth Samuels after threats were allegedly made in a phone call to the Pedroia family tire business.

So if I understand this, Peter Gammons thinks the Coliseum is a dump. Dude, fuck you Peter Gammons. Seriously man, eat a dick. Don't talk about my home stadium. The A's faithful are allowed to call that place a dump, but you sir do not have that privilege. You senile mother fucker. Understandable? Understandable? Jesus. Also, note to ESPN: Opening a west coast studio won't stop me from believing that ESPN loves the Yankee and Red Sox dick in the ass. A studio in Los Angeles at that. Idiots. I don't condone making death threats against someone's family. Sadly, I'm not surprised because Oakland fans can be hostile. I'm more annoyed at Peter Gammons. You should really try not to express your obvious bias on air. To balance your opinion with your bias is a difficult thing to do as a sports reporter, but seriously, does anyone take Darren Sharper seriously if he picks the Cowboys to win the Super Bowl? Or when Merril Hoge picks the Steelers? It's hard to trust their opinions when team loyalty is involved.

Anyway, I'm just some fan of a small market team. I haven't been following the A's much since living here, but I just felt a fire burn inside of me when Gammons made that passive jab at the A's. I'll be home soon and I will surely get the green and gold flowing again. End rant.

25 Day Challenge(Update)

Very interested in Fallout 3. Hit Level 10 and I have an abundance of death dealing tools. However, Crackdown is funner than I thought it would be. The first time I played it I got bored after 10 minutes. Now I can't stop playing Crackdown. I don't even do the missions. I'd rather find energy orbs and do rooftop races. Dibs, CJ, buy Crackdown. You can find that for 20 bucks. I want to play some co-op. Back to Fallout, this is the first time I've wanted to play the game since I got it for Christmas. Before, I just played it out of guilt, or for achievements. None of which I recieved because you have to play the game.

Anyway, with Crackdown and Phoenix Wright, I don't know if I'm going to finish Fallout 3. Also need to play Peggle and SF IV. I'm not even going to bother with Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection.

The GAF Collection

I was reading Joystiq which I usually do everyday and I saw this. I don't read NeoGAF that often but I found myself going through every single page of this particular thread called "The GAF Collection." Basically all of the GAF members decided to create Criterion Collection style box art for all of the classics. Some of them are so amazing. I wish I had a means to print some of these. I even buy some of these games just so I could print out the covers. Really impressive stuff.
